Learning Plateaus

Plateaus in learning something new are normal. When the brain accumulates a lot of knowledge, that knowledge doesn't immediately find its way into one's fingers. So, the brain shuts down and no more progress is possible until the new information your learning is digested.

What can do when you find yourself in one of these learning plateaus?

1. Recognize and acknowledge that you're on a plateau.

2. SLOW your playing to a crawl.

3. Avoid doing one routine over and over as if you were possessed, but rather, try a variety of things.

Be assured every plateau is passed and new progress will eventually follow.
